Tote Bag For My Little Ballerina 于我家的小小芭蕾舞家

I'm sewing a bag again. This time it is for my daughter. I bought this cotton linen ballerina prints fabric for quite a long while ago at a craft supplies bazaar. I like the retro look of the fabric.

I myself have never done ballet before, I'm not good at dancing. Unlike me, my daughter loves to dance. She can dance to any music :) Ballet, as we understand, provides a good foundation for other types of dance. Hence, we enrolled her for ballet lessons since she was five. She is still very much enjoying her ballet lessons. Though she might not end up as a professional dancer, it doesn't matter as life is about the journey, not the destination.

This is bag I sewn for my daughter, for her to bring to her favourite ballet class.

DIY Photo Book - DIY 相簿

This is the second DIY photo book that I'm making. I always like to add caption/story and other decorating stuff into my photo album. Hence, before I learned to make a book I usually go for self-adhesive photo album which is more flexible in usage. It's even more exciting now that I can make my own! I can create my own photo album cover and decorate the album the way I like.

I used two different designs of fabric for the front & back cover of the album. The front cover is using the fabric from Ikea (Tidny design). A black & white checked fabric is used for the back cover. As for the paper, acid free paper is used to better preserve the photos. 

To add character to the piece, I coloured the letter box red using Pentel fabric pastel. I love the effect of the red letter box against the black contour lines. :)

An unexpected Gift 一份意外的礼物

I have been in love with crafting since I was little. Well, it started off with simple craft like greetings card making, bookmark and scrapbook making then. I enjoy the process of making and creating from basic material to an end product. It is an amazing experience to see how simple things can be transformed to something beautiful & useful; from a piece of paper to a greeting card, a few pieces of cloth to a functional table map, a few pieces of papers & chip-boards to a book, a few blocks of clay to a nice figurine, a bit of flour, eggs and sugar to a bread, and so on so forth.

My inspiration of crafting came from my daily activities, from people around me; a messy dinning table, a pile of unsorted photos, someone's birthday, a friend giving birth to a baby, a heavy schoolbag...it's just that simple, to make & create for people that I care and love and also for those who appreciate handmade things.

I received an invitation for an interview with Sin Chew Daily for their column on craft and handmade. It was really a surprise! I'm really thankful that I was given such an opportunity to share my craft work.

我从小就喜欢动手制作小东西。剪剪贴贴做卡片，书签，剪贴簿。我很享受制作的过程，是一种很棒的感觉。看着一样简单的东西如纸张，布料，变成卡片，包包，书本，创作的力量真的是不可思议！

我的创作灵感来自我的日常生活，我周围的人与物； 一张零乱的餐桌，一叠未整理的相片，一个朋友的生日，一个刚生产的朋友，一个沉重的书包，都是创作灵感的来源。就是那么简单。为我关心及关爱的人所做，为珍惜手作的朋友而做。

我很意外的收到星洲日报的邀请以做一个採访，一个关于我的手作的专访。我真的很幸运可以有这个机会与更多的人分享我的作品。感恩！

Circus is in Town - 马戏团来咯！Part 3

参与马戏团手作展的最后一项作品是相框，以树脂粘土为主再配上一些布料制作。做了四件。白色的相框配上色彩鲜艳的粘土作品，视觉效果还可以吧。

第二项作品是手作书。只做了两本。一本是DIY相簿，另一本是记事本。都是采用无酸纸 (acid free paper) 制作。

五彩缤纷的旗帜和气球，相信这是大家儿时对马戏团的印象吧。

Circus is in Town - 马戏团来咯！Part 1

无意中发现鸟人杂货铺（Pipit Zakka Store）将在八月份办一个以马戏团为主题的展览会。我心血来潮，就报名参展了。这是我第一次参加手作展，有点紧张，有点期待，也很兴奋！

马戏团嘛，我是不曾去过，但是关于马戏团的故事书和电影我就有看过。所以要制作这个主题的作品相信并不会太困难， 再加上一点点想像力，这个任务我应该可以胜任吧！

我一共制作了三种不同的作品，其中两种是以粘土为主，一个是纸制品。每一种我都做几件不一样的款式。

在这里先分享第一项作品，巧克力糖罐。我做了四种不同的款式。每个款式只有一个喔，独一无二，绝无重复。
